URGENT ACTION APPEAL – Stop the removal of Maruf

Urgent Action Appeal: Maruf Uddin

Our friend Maruf came to the UK in 2009 from Bangladesh, where he was a member of a banned political party and was tortured with acid. The Home Office know this and have detained him anyway against their own policy. They refuse to accept that he would be in danger there, have refused him asylum, and coerced him into signing a voluntary return agreement, which he did not want to do because he fears for his life if he is returned to Bangladesh. Maruf suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure. They have given him a ticket to Sylhet for 10/12/17, on Qatar Airways flight QR008/QR640/QR7044. Please call Qatar Airways at 03300240125, tweet them at @qatarairways and let them know that Maruf Uddin, Home Office reference number U1093871, should not be on that flight and that they would be removing him against his will. Urge them not to cooperate with the racist Home Office, which dismisses the fears and lives of people of colour and removes people against their will into dangerous situations every day.
